Apple iPhone SE 2 (iPhone 9?) with iPhone 8-like design, Touch ID surfaces

Back in 2016, Apple launched the compact iPhone SE with iPhone 5s-like design and while Apple shifted the design language starting with iPhone X, a lot of users have been waiting for a refresh to the iPhone SE. There were multiple reports that the iPhone SE 2 will launch in Q1 2020, and now the renders of the smartphone have surfaced along with a few key details.

According to the renders, Apple iPhone SE 2 is said to flaunt a small 4.7-inch LCD display with no-notch and is said to measure 138.5 x 67.4 x 7.8 mm in size and 8.6mm including the rear camera bump, and just to compare, iPhone 8 measures 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm in size. While the form factor of the iPhone SE 2 is said to be similar to the iPhone 8, SE 2 is said to sport a frosted glass back instead of a glossy back that was present on the iPhone 8.

Regarding the camera, iPhone SE 2 is said to sport a single rear camera and will most likely not sport a dual-camera setup. Furthermore, Touch ID is said to make a return and the renders reveal a home button with support for Touch ID. Lastly, it is expected to be powered by Appleā€™s A13 Bionic processor and pack a larger battery.

Also, it is still not clear if Apple would call this as iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9, and we should know more information regarding the specifications and launch date in the coming months.
