Swords have become an important element of the PvE meta in Destiny 2; if you’re seeking for the best one to utilize, look no further than these options.
Season of the Worthy brought various modifications to Destiny 2, the most significant of which was an upgrade of Swords. Their numbers have been changed, their perks rebalanced, and their overall power has been enhanced.
While not much has changed since Worthy, Swords remain an extremely helpful tool for the majority of PvE activity. While some players avoid this archetype owing to boss stomps, many others avoid Swords due to their unique perk pool. Swords are among of the best weapons in the game once you get used to their playstyle, and everyone should have a couple strong ones. Here are the top 10 best Swords in Destiny 2.
Thin Precipice
The first-ever Strand Sword in Destiny 2 does not disappoint. Thin Precipice, Just in Case’s Taken relative, is a Vortex Frame Sword that delivers Strand damage to foes. This is fantastic in and of itself since it allows Thin Precipice to use Unraveling Rounds, a subclass verb that releases Unravel projectiles when they hit targets.
That is fantastic in and of itself, but what sets Thin Precipice apart are its benefits. The standard fan favorites may be found in the first primary perk column: Unrelenting, Relentless Strikes, Valiant Charge, and Tireless Blade. Surprisingly, it can also gain Steady Hands in this column, allowing you to shift weapons instantaneously following a Sword kill. The second column becomes more interesting, with options such as Chain Reaction, Golden Tricorn, and even Hatchling. Using a Vortex Frame’s powerful attack to create an army of Threadlings may not be useful, but it is certainly impressive.
Bequest
Despite Bequest’s relatively mediocre Adaptive Frame, this Sword is certainly one of the greatest you can use right now. Bequest, obtained during the Deep Stone Crypt raid, has an excellent perk pool and the highest Impact rating of any Adaptive Sword, which means it deals more damage than any other Adaptive Sword.
Tireless Blade and Surrounded provide this weapon with significantly more damage per strike than Falling Guillotine. Consider rolling with Assassin’s Blade if you want to use your Sword to murder majors. Bequest is an excellent pick for all playstyles, and it’s quite straightforward to farm after you’ve assembled a raid team.
Razor’s Edge
Falling Guillotine has been officially surpassed. Razor’s Edge is the same frame as Falling Guillotine, but with far more benefits. Wellspring and Chain Reaction are a superb perk combination that allows this Sword to destroy hordes of red bars and majors while also granting ability energy. You can also go with a more traditional roll of Tireless Blade and One for All. Keep a watch out for this Sword if you intend on farming Iron Banner anytime soon.
Heartshadow
Heartshadow is a Sword designed exclusively for Void builds, specifically Nightstalkers. This blade has a powerful attack that launches a swarm of Void projectiles that do moderate damage when they collide with an adversary. The orb’s damage to a target causes a 15% Weaken.Kills from heavy attacks render you invisible.
This weapon has an intriguing gameplay loop that consists of a heavy attack, five weak attacks, and then a heavy attack. Although the damage is comparable to that of other Legendary Swords, the utility of this weapon cannot be emphasized. The ability to become invisible after a kill is incredibly beneficial for solo Lost Sector and dungeon runs, and the debuff you inflict is useful in Master or GM content. If you’re willing to utilize your Exotic slot on a Sword, Lament and Black Talon are arguably better choices, but Heartshadow is an excellent choice for a Void build.
Hero Of Ages
Hero of Ages is a medieval Sword laced with real cosmic magic, inspired by myth. This Vortex Frame is the only one of its kind, capable of rolling with both Demolitionist and Chain Reaction. Sword kills and Chain Reaction explosions will both grant grenade energy, which is ideal for certain builds.
If add-clear Swords aren’t your thing, Hero of Ages can also help you take down majors and monsters with Relentless Strikes and One for All. Although it cannot compete with Lament or Black Talon for single-target boss DPS, Hero of Ages’ enormous add-clearing potential making it one of the greatest Swords you can presently farm for.
Goldtusk In Destiny 2
Quickfang’s gilded variation returns in Season of Defiance, with origin features and a powerful new perk pool. This Sword can be obtained by focusing their Defiant Engrams on the Recovered Leviathan Weapons option. This Sword, like the original Quickfang and Goldtusk variations, is only available to Hunters.
Goldtusk keeps its inherent Lightweight Frame, improving your sprint speed while equipped. You can boost this Sword’s agility with Valiant Charge in the first perk column, which acts as a kind of Eager Edge alternative that prevents blocking. You can use this with Chain Reaction for an excellent add clear or Whirlwind Guard for increased damage. If Valiant Charge isn’t for you, you can also get Unrelenting to gain HP on kills or Assassin’s Blade to double your damage perks. This Sword is a mix of everything.
Half-Truths
The Halo franchise’s Energy Sword has made its way into Destiny 2. Well, half of the Sword survived. Half-Truths is an energy blade in the Adaptive archetype with some of the most powerful bonuses we’ve seen on a Sword so far.
Eager Edge, a perk that boosts sword lunge distance when you promptly swap to your Sword, is Half-Truth’s ace up its sleeve. This lunge distance is enormous in Tunnel Rush, even surpassing Worldline Zero’s Exotic perk. Sword skating is now easier than ever, even for Hunters.
Half-Truths is an excellent choice for a genuine Sword. Duelist’s Stance and Assassin’s Blade combine to become an effective workhorse weapon capable of dispatching majors with ease. If you don’t often use your Sword, keep an eye out for a roll with Tireless Blade and Harmony. If you enjoy Swords, you should think about farming for a solid Half-Truths roll.
Black Talon
Black Talon is one of Destiny 2‘s most powerful Exotics. It combines Swords’ great damage with the safety of most ranged weapons.
While Black Talon is an uncommon drop in any activity, it provides a degree of damage and safety that few Swords can match. The powerful attack of this weapon launches Void missiles that track targets. After blocking an attack, its Catalyst offers a bonus comparable to Counterattack. If you don’t have Lament, Black Talon is a great substitute.
The Other Half
This is the second half of the Halo Energy Sword, which complements the Half-Truths Sword commonly obtained from Xur’s Treasure Trove. Both Swords may appear identical, but The Other Half has significantly more potent perk combinations than its Arc counterpart.
This Sword has Eager Edge in the first column rather than the second, allowing you to use its ludicrous mobility alongside a damage perk like Vorpal Weapon. The second column is excellent, with options such as Vorpal Weapon, Frenzy, and Whirlwind Blade. If you don’t mind not employing Eager Edge, Relentless Strikes and Duelist’s Trance are also viable possibilities. Almost every roll on this Sword is good, which compensates for the weapon’s single drawback: its scarcity. Good luck obtaining this from Xur’s Treasure Trove.
The Lament
The raw damage output of Lament, an Exotic chainsword plucked from Warhammer 40K and placed in the Destiny universe, cannot be matched by Falling Guillotine.
Holding the block button causes Lament to rev up, causing light assaults to unleash a fury of lethal attacks that stacks Banshee’s Wail. Increase this bonus to x9, then use a strong attack to expend all charges, causing a ridiculous amount of damage to anyone nearby. This Sword is powerful enough to dispatch raid bosses or the strongest Nightfall Champions with ease. You can also use this weapon in GM Nightfalls and raids if you have enough damage resistance or healing. There is no better Sword than Lament.
