In a new interview with Vulture, Zendaya confirmed that Euphoria season 2 is currently in production. The actor, who also serves as an executive producer on the show and plays Rue Wilder, said that the second season would air in two parts: The first part will be a special two-hour episode on August 16, and the second part will air as its season finale special (also called a “finale”) on August 23.
The first part of Euphoria’s second season will begin at the beginning of summer vacation when Rue finds herself back home in rehab, recovering from her overdose at Prom. While there, she begins her healing alongside new patients like Maddy (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Hunter Schafer). They are both struggling with their issues following their traumatic experiences over spring break.
When does Euphoria season 1 air?
The first season of Euphoria premiered on Sunday, June 16, 2019. The premiere episode was available on HBO Now, and HBO Go at 10:00 p.m. EST/9:00 p.m. CST, but it wasn’t yet available to stream on Netflix until a few weeks later.
The following episodes were released over the next six days:
- Episode 2 aired on Monday, June 17, at 9:00 p.m., followed by episodes 3-6 (Tuesday through Thursday).
